Testing scripts before you activate them

Scripts start inactive, and you can preview and test them before anything calls them through the API. Because those runs are real, plan what a test touches.

Why tests need a plan

Scripts are stored and run in the AI Zeny Windows app on your PC — also when you use Cloud mode — whether you write them yourself or the AI agent drafts them. Inactive scripts can run for previews and tests, and those runs have real effects; API use requires you to activate the script.

Real effects

Scripts are not sandboxed. A test of a script that writes to a sheet, calls another system or sends a message really does so.

A safe way to test

  1. Point the script at targets you control while testing: a copy of the sheet, your own phone number or email as the recipient, or a test mode if your provider offers one.
  2. Start with a small slice of data — one company, one year, a few customers.
  3. Read the output before widening it. If the AI agent (Max; not available yet) drafted the script, review what it does; drafts start inactive.
  4. Switch the targets to the real ones and test once more.
  5. Activate the script when it does what you expect. Only activated scripts can be called through the API, and you can deactivate one at any time.

You are responsible for what your scripts do and for their compliance.
