Connect a BUSY company on the PC
The Windows app reads only the BUSY companies you add to it.

Add the company
Step 1: Open the companies page
In the Windows app, open BUSY Data → Connect to BUSY and choose “Add company”.Step 2: Name it
Enter the “Company code” (BUSY’s company code, for example COMP0001) and the “Company name”, and tick “Reports may use this company”.Step 3: Choose the years
In “Allowed financial years”, enter four-digit starting years separated by commas, for example 2025, 2026.Step 4: Say where the data is
Under “BUSY connection”, choose “SQL Server” (server name or address, and how to sign in) or “Microsoft Access” (the BUSY data folder).Step 5: Test it
Choose “Test connection”. It saves your changes, then checks the connection and each allowed financial year.
Test results
- “Connection works”.
- “Connected, but a financial year could not be opened” — check the years you entered.
- “Could not connect to BUSY” — check the server, sign-in or data folder.
A SQL Server password you enter is stored encrypted on the PC only.
