Local API

Read BUSY from software on your PC or local network

The AI Zeny Windows app offers a Local API, so software on the same PC or your office network can read BUSY directly — without going through the cloud.

What it does

  • Serves the same BUSY read operations to software on the PC itself and on your private local network.
  • Answers in the same JSON envelope — success, data and metadata — as the public API.
  • Answers requests made directly to the PC over your own network, without a round trip through AI Zeny Cloud.

What you need

  • The AI Zeny Windows app running on the PC that has BUSY.
  • The Local API token: generated on the PC and shown in the app after you unlock it with your local password or PIN. It never comes from the cloud and is not your organization’s API token.
  • The PC’s address on your network and the Local API port — 8801 by default — both shown in the app.

Plus reads your BUSY data, with scripting and Google Sheets; Pro adds accounting writes; Max adds the AI Agent, which is not available yet. Go, below Plus, includes none of these. Every plan, the free trial included, has the end-to-end encrypted BUSY backup. Local mode and Cloud mode are not tied to a plan. The free trial gives Pro-level features, without the AI Agent.

Who can reach it

  • It is meant for software on the PC itself and on your private local network.
  • It refuses requests from public internet addresses, and the Windows firewall rule created at installation admits the local subnet only.
  • Every data request carries the Local API token; you can regenerate it in the app, and the old one stops working at once.
  • Keep it on your local network: do not publish it through port forwarding or other network changes. Your own network and firewall configuration remain your responsibility.

You can stop it at any time

The Local API can be stopped from the AI Zeny window, and started again when you choose. While it is stopped, local callers get no answer.

Limits and responsibilities

  • Request bodies up to 16 KiB.
  • The Local API is described here as at the current Windows app; the in-app documentation lists its routes.

These are technical limits of each request and apply the same way on every plan and during the free trial. The free trial also has its own length and company, financial-year and device limits, shown on the free-trial page and when you register.
