Your own queries and reports, through the same API
When a standard operation does not return exactly what you need, run your own read-only SQL, a saved query or a named report through the AI Zeny API. The query is validated and run on your PC.

What it does
- Runs one read-only SELECT statement you write, with named parameters instead of values pasted into the SQL.
- Runs a saved query by name, so your systems call a stable name while the SQL lives with you.
- Runs AI Zeny’s named reports by name.
- Returns results in the same JSON envelope as every other operation, paged where the result is long.
What you need
- An enrolled PC with the AI Zeny Windows app connected to your BUSY company.
- An API token for the calling system, limited to the companies it needs.
- Someone who knows the BUSY data they want to read.
Plus reads your BUSY data, with scripting and Google Sheets; Pro adds accounting writes; Max adds the AI Agent, which is not available yet. Go, below Plus, includes none of these. Every plan, the free trial included, has the end-to-end encrypted BUSY backup. Local mode and Cloud mode are not tied to a plan. The free trial gives Pro-level features, without the AI Agent.
How a custom query runs

Step 1: Your system sends the query or its name
With the company, financial year and any parameters. - 2
Step 2: The PC validates it
Only one read-only SELECT is accepted; anything that would change data is refused. - 3
Step 3: The result comes back
As columns and rows in the standard envelope, with paging for long results.
Read-only by design
Custom queries read; they never change your books. Tokens decide which companies a system can query, and you can revoke or rotate a token at any time.
Limits and responsibilities
- Custom SQL is one SELECT statement.
- A live answer is limited to 2 MiB; a larger answer is refused, never cut short — page through it instead.
- One financial year per custom query request; requests up to 16 KiB.
These are technical limits of each request and apply the same way on every plan and during the free trial. The free trial also has its own length and company, financial-year and device limits, shown on the free-trial page and when you register.
